2025 South Carolina Wing Encampment Day 3
Encampment Day 3
Honor Flight of the Day: Echo Flight
Let the Rivalries Begin
By Day 3, cadets and staff at South Carolina Wing Encampment have hit their stride. Gone are the nerves of arrival—now replaced with focus, fire, and a little friendly rivalry.
Cadets and staff are assigned to one of eight flights: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, and Hotel. (Golf and Hotel Flights are both in the Advanced Staff Training) Throughout the week, they face a variety of challenges—drill, physical training, uniform inspections, and leadership exercises—where performance is key. And nothing fuels motivation quite like a bit of healthy competition.
At the heart of it all is the coveted Honor Flight title. Awarded daily based on the previous day’s performance, the honor isn’t just a ribbon—it’s bragging rights. And with “Honor Flight of the Week” up for grabs at the end, the stakes keep climbing.
The rivalries are heating up.
“What flight is your biggest competition at this year’s encampment, and why?”
Bravo Flight:
“Foxtrot flight, because we beat Foxtrot in just about everything—PT games, sounding off, and drill.”
– Cadet Chief Master Sgt Preston Potenza
Delta Flight:
“Charlie flight, because they aren’t loud enough.”
– Cadet 2nd Lt. Graydon Davis
Charlie Flight:
“Delta flight, because there is just a lot of competition between squadrons, and I have history with Chief Walker.”
– Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Caleb Pearce
Foxtrot Flight:
“Our biggest rival is Bravo flight, because they got honor flight, and we are better in every way.”
– Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Jack Butters
Echo Flight:
“Bravo flight, because me and Chief Potenza are in a race for honor flight, and so far, he is winning.” (Spoiler, Echo won!)
– Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Maxwell Smith
As Day 3 wraps up, one thing is clear—cadets are no longer just pushing through the days. They’re pushing each other to be better, louder, faster, and sharper. The race for honor flight is on, and the pride of being named the best of the best has never felt more real.
